Jill Black ZalbenJill Black Zalben joined Black Equities Group in 2004, and also is a direc­tor of the Stanley and Joyce Black Family Foundation. Her primary focus is helping underserved communities in Los Angeles, bringing awareness to mental health, drug addiction, and our broken education system. Ms. Black Zalben is on the boards of several philanthropic charities, including the Los Angeles Neighborhood Land Trust, Beit T’Shuvah, Temple of the Arts, and The David Lynch Foundation. She is also involved with Charity Navigator in New York. Ms. Black Zalben graduated from The American University in Washington, DC, and has two children—Zach Zalben (28) and Torie Zalben (26).

Ms. Black Zalben is devoted to raising money to fund kidney research and education. Her brother, Jack, was diagnosed with double kidney failure a few years ago, and her experience with his time on dialysis and his remarkable kidney transplant have made her an advocate for kidney disease research.
