Dr. Susanne Angelow was born and grew up in Germany and earned a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the Westfalische Wilhelms University in Munster in the lab of Dr. Hans-Joachim Galla. For her postdoctoral studies, she joined the lab of Dr. Alan Yu at the University of Southern California, where she studied transport properties of kidney epithelial cells. Her current project in the lab of Dr. De Filippo at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles is focused on the impairment of kidney function in diabetes and the potential beneficial effects of stem cells in renal repair.
